Bellingham’s Downtown neighborhood makes up around a third of what is referred to as the city center. In addition to the appeal of living in a central location is the fact that the Downtown area has seen a huge surge of redevelopment and residents interested in living here in the past ten to fifteen years. Although single-family residential homes may be limited in the Downtown neighborhood they are not impossible to find. Needless to say, if a sense of community is important to you and you prefer to be close to it all, Downtown is a great choice for you! It’s also a great option if you prefer to walk from place to place and proximity to public transportation and coffee shops is important to you. This is the only part of Bellingham where you can guarantee being within two blocks of these amenities. An added perk is the Bellingham Farmers Market which is open on Saturdays from April through December.
